A trip to Grenada

Day Four

Relaxing and Sailing

Thursday, we just chilled. Susan went for a run, Yvonne tried snorkeling off the beach at the cottages but it was too murky for any visibility, and I lounged on the beach. There was a run for groceries, lunch picked up from a nearby roti joint, followed by more lounging. We made the first of several visits to the pair of horses across the street today, and fed them bits of carrot and sugar cubes. I wandered around and took pictures. I shot several rolls of film on this trip, but as scenic and interesting as the island was, I could have stood to have shot twice as much. And yes, the palm trees in the pictures are really coconut palms (they're common on the island, although not indigenous). Falling coconuts are listed in the island's official tourist magazine as one of the island's few hazards. :)

Yvonne took Susan sailing on a Sunfish sailboat the cottages provide. She said that since it was a really a one person boat, it wouldn't have worked to take me (too heavy). I spent enough time in the salt water elsewhere, so that was fine. :) I did get some nice pictures of the sailing, though.

Our housekeeper/cook turned out to be quite a good cook. During the course of our stay, she made us curried chicken, lobster, pork chops, a beef curry/stew, and various side dishes. She made the curried chicken for dinner this day. Later in the day we used the cottage's game room (which was air-conditioned unlike the cottages themselves) and made use of their pool table and cable TV.
