A trip to Grenada

Day Eight

Last Full Day on Grenada

We took it easy on our last full day on Grenada. I went for a morning run (I tend to get up much earlier on vacations than at home), and later in the day headed into town to mail my postcards and buy a few more gifts and souvenirs. While in town I had a fresh mango juice. Very tasty. I also took the opportunity to climb to the fort that guards the entrance to St. George's two harbors. The fort is the headquarters of the national police today, but is open for sight-seeing. The views of the town and harbor from the top of the fort were some of the best I'd seen on the trip, but unfortunately I hadn't brought my camera. :-(

After I got back, all three of us went to another art gallery (where Susan bought a piece). After that, I read on the beach while Yvonne and Susan went off to do other stuff and explored the local medical school.

That evening we packed and I helped Yvonne try to finish off the remaining mangos; I made a poor showing compared to her, something like 3 to her 9. :)
